The following videos describe the Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards (WCRS) and help district leaders identify opportunities to incorporate the WCRS into their curriculum
The WCRS are a set of competencies designed to prepare students for success in the workforce and postsecondary education. They emphasize essential skills that employers seek, including:
- Employability Skills – Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability.
- Career Development – Self-awareness, career exploration, goal setting, and planning.
- Academic and Technical Skills – Application of knowledge in real-world settings, industry-specific competencies, and lifelong learning.
These standards align with the Wisconsin State Standards, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and the Academic and Career Planning (ACP) process, ensuring students graduate with the skills needed for future careers.
