Planning for Effective Instruction Course

Effective instruction begins with intentional planning. This self-paced eLearning course helps educators strengthen the planning practices that lead to increased student engagement, stronger instructional alignment, and improved learning outcomes. Participants will explore the instructional planning cycle, reflect on current practices, and discover strategies - including the thoughtful use of AI - to design, deliver, assess, and continuously improve instruction.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

• Analyze the instructional planning cycle before, during, and after instruction.
• Apply strategies to design, deliver, assess, and refine effective instruction.
• Evaluate current planning practices and identify opportunities to strengthen future lessons, including the responsible use of AI tools.

Learning Intentions:

• Review a previously taught lesson.
• Determine which elements of the planning process are already in place.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the planning process for future lessons.

• Self-paced eLearning course with interactive knowledge checks and real-world scenarios.
• The estimated time to take the course is 60 minutes
