Build Accessible Digital Communications That Reach Every Audience

The Digital Accessibility in Everyday Communications course is the next step in CESA 6's Digital Accessibility series, designed to help federally funded institutions put accessibility into practice across everyday digital communications. Building on the concepts introduced in the Digital Accessibility Foundations Course, participants will learn how to apply WCAG 2.1 AA standards to emails, documents, social media, multimedia, and other digital content. This self-paced course helps educators and school teams make accessibility a daily practice by embedding inclusive design into communication workflows and creating sustainable, organization-wide habits.

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

• Apply WCAG principles to digital communications beyond websites.
• Create accessible social media content, multimedia, and digital communications.
• Evaluate third-party tools and external resources for accessibility.
• Design accessible emails and e-newsletters.
• Build accessibility monitoring into ongoing communication workflows.

Target Audience:

• All state and local government entities, including K-12 public schools staff, who are responsible for ensuring their digital content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
