Build a Strong Foundation for Accessible Digital Communication
Creating accessible digital spaces isn't just a compliance requirement - it's a commitment to equity, inclusion, and clearer communication for every member of your school community. As the first course in CESA 6's three-part Digital Accessibility series, this self-paced learning experience provides the foundation districts need to begin their accessibility journey with confidence. Designed specifically for federally funded institutions, participants will explore the DOJ's 2024 ADA Title II final rule, WCAG 2.1 AA standards, and practical strategies for improving websites and digital content before upcoming compliance deadlines.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the purpose and importance of digital accessibility.
- Describe the four WCAG principles (POUR) and their role in accessible design.
- Recognize common accessibility barriers and tools used to evaluate digital content.
- Apply foundational strategies to improve website and digital content accessibility.
Target Audience:
- All state and local government entities, including K-12 public schools staff, who are responsible for ensuring their digital content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.
Format:
- Self-paced eLearning course with interactive knowledge checks and real-world scenarios.
- The estimated time to take the course is 60 minutes.
- Downloadable Website Inventory Tool to create a baseline on determining how many pages you need to fix, what the most common occurring issues are on your site, and determining your highest-priority pages.
- A completion certificate is available after completing the course.

When can I expect my items?

Does CESA 6 accept returns?
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return most items within 30 days of the original purchase date. Returned items must be in unused and original condition with all packaging and items intact. To start a return, you can contact us at shop@cesa6.org. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. Certain items cannot be returned, such as digital downloads, access to online courses, custom orders, and final sale items.
How can I apply my organization's tax exempt status to my order?
If you are a tax-exempt organization, please send a copy of your tax-exempt certificate along with the name and business email address associated with the tax exempt account to shop@cesa6.org. You will receive an email notification when the tax exemption has been applied to your account, which will then be applied to all eligible future orders.
