Outcomes
- Understand common mental health challenges for youth including expanded content on trauma, substance use, self-care and the impact of social media and bullyings.
- Discriminate between typical adolescent development and behaviors and those that are cause for concern.
- Develop the knowledge to execute a 5-step action plan to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis
situations.
Details
- Registration will close 1 week prior to each event to allow time to complete pre-work
- Virtual events are FREE, in person events are $25 and include lunch
- Upon completion, participants will receive a Youth Mental Health First Aid Certificate valid for 3 years.
- This evidence based curriculum requires 6.5 hours of instruction (2 hours pre-work, 4.5 hours with a certified instructor).
- Trainers are also available to come to your school community
Who Should Attend
All school staff are strongly encouraged to attend (maintenance, secretarial, food service, transportation, etc.). Schools may choose to include community members in youth-serving organizations (law enforcement, churches, firefighters/EMTs, boys and girls’ clubs, etc.) as well as families and other community members.
NOTE: All events are in person at the CESA 6 Conference Center (2300 WI 44, Oshkosh, WI) and include lunch and snacks. If you will be joining virtually please contact Loretta Lundt for a discount code.

Cancellations for Events
Participant Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing info@cesa6.org. Registrants who cancel at least 14 calendar days prior to the event start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable service or material fees. Cancellations received 7 to 13 calendar days before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the event. Participants who do not attend without prior notice ("no call, no show") will be charged the full event fee.
Event Changes or Cancellations by CESA 6: CESA 6 reserves the right to change or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. Participants will be notified promptly via email and offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future event.
Registration Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to another individual from the same organization at no additional cost. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event start date to request a transfer.
