Special Education Structured Literacy Academy for Grades 6-12
Transform Your Instructional Approach for Secondary Readers with Individualized Education Service Plans
With the right instruction and support, all students can learn to read and write — but it can be challenging to meet the diverse needs of special education. Aligned with the latest research around the science of reading and writing, this academy will equip participants with assessments, instructional routines, and tools they need to develop specific Individualized Education Service Plan (IEP) goals, provide instruction, and monitor progress.

Year One: Reading Focus
- Know which literacy assessments to use to diagnose students’ specific needs in Basic Reading, Reading Fluency, and Reading Comprehension.

- Understand how to monitor the progress of specific IEP goals in the area of Written Expression.

Year 1: Reading Focus
- Two half-day leader sessions at CESA 6, Oshkosh
- Four full-day, whole-team learning sessions at CESA 6, Oshkosh
- Three one-hour virtual coaching sessions per district
Year 2: Writing Focus
- Two half-day leader sessions at CESA 6, Oshkosh
- Four full-day, whole-team learning sessions at CESA 6, Oshkosh
- Three one-hour virtual coaching sessions per district

WORKSHOP CANCELLATIONS
Participant Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing info@cesa6.org. Registrants who cancel at least 14 calendar days prior to the event start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable service or material fees. Cancellations received 7 to 13 calendar days before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the event. Participants who do not attend without prior notice ("no call, no show") will be charged the full event fee.

Event Changes or Cancellations by CESA 6: CESA 6 reserves the right to change or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. Participants will be notified promptly via email and offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future event.

Registration Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to another individual from the same organization at no additional cost. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event start date to request a transfer.
