The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model is a research-based instructional model that has proven effective in addressing the academic needs of English learners (ELs). The SIOP Model consists of eight interrelated components:

- Practice/Application
- Lesson Delivery
- Review & Assessment

- Understand the 8 SIOP components
- Practice the features of SIOP lesson plans
- Implement SIOP into a lesson plan
