School Health Assistant Training

September 30 | 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM

This training is for anyone working under the supervision of a school nurse. Secretaries and other staff working with students that have medical needs.

Covered Content

  • Laws Surrounding School Nurses and delegation

  • Good Samaritan Law

  • Difference between Roles

  • District Policy/Procedures/Protocol and the school
    handbook. Where do you find that and why is it
    important?

  • Confidentiality and medical records

  • Medication Hands on training for Epinephrine,
    Glucagon, Narcan, Inhalers (staff should watch DPI
    videos prior to attending)

  • WISHeS Protocol, First Aid, bandages to broken
    bones, asthma, seizures and more

  • G-tubes

  • Diabetic overview, carb counting, and where to
    find more in depth training

  • Field trips

  • Accident reports

  • Documentation and Health office visits

  • Immunization laws and reporting

  • Calling 911

  • Screening for Vision and Hearing

  • Health Office tasks and timelines

Cancellations for Events
Participant Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing info@cesa6.org. Registrants who cancel at least 14 calendar days prior to the event start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable service or material fees. Cancellations received 7 to 13 calendar days before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the event. Participants who do not attend without prior notice ("no call, no show") will be charged the full event fee.

Event Changes or Cancellations by CESA 6: CESA 6 reserves the right to change or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. Participants will be notified promptly via email and offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future event.

Registration Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to another individual from the same organization at no additional cost. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event start date to request a transfer.
