Coaching for Impact! Novice Coach Mentoring Program

Optimize Your Literacy and Instructional Coaching Skills

The Novice Coaches Academy is for 1st- and 2nd-year Literacy and Instructional Coaches. We will explore topics to help you smoothly transition or continue to transition into your new role. Novice coaches will receive individualized support through virtual 1-on-1 mentoring sessions and will network with other new coaches in the whole-group learning sessions.


Focus Areas

  • Launching a new school year (Goals: 30-, 60- and 90-days)
  • Learn how to work with teachers with a variety of coaching strategies, including questioning and feedback, to build momentum as a collaborative partnership
  • Build your personal coaching philosophy
  • Align your personal coaching philosophy to your district’s coaching vision
  • Guided reflection on the current school year and looking ahead to next year


Deliverables

  • Coaching tools and data collection tools to build a coaching toolkit


Details

  • One half-day virtual session for the principal and/or leader of the coaching program
  • Four full-day, in-person learning sessions for novice coaches
  • Four individualized one-hour virtual coaching sessions per coach throughout the year

  • September 8, 2025
  • October 29, 2025
  • February 9, 2026
  • April 7, 2026

Times:  8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

WORKSHOP CANCELLATIONS


Participant Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing info@cesa6.org. Registrants who cancel at least 14 calendar days prior to the event start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable service or material fees. Cancellations received 7 to 13 calendar days before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the event. Participants who do not attend without prior notice ("no call, no show") will be charged the full event fee.

Event Changes or Cancellations by CESA 6: CESA 6 reserves the right to change or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. Participants will be notified promptly via email and offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future event.

Registration Transfers: Registrations may be transferred to another individual from the same organization at no additional cost. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event start date to request a transfer.
